Polyethylene
Polyethylene Foam
Polyethylene foam is a highly resilient, closed cell material that is commonly used in packaging end caps, edge protection, foam trays, pads, gaskets, case inserts and other products.
During the fabrication process, polyethylene foam can be saw cut, die cut, water jet cut and thermoformed to achieve custom shapes. The material is available in a wide range of densities and provides excellent cushioning material for products that are fragile and heavy.
ADVANTAGES
of Polyethylene Foam
- Resilient — provides high shock absorption and tear resistance
- Lightweight — reduces shipping costs
- Heat weldable — bonds to a variety of surfaces
- Low-waste — no CFC’s or HCFC’s
- Low-abrasion — protects delicate items
- Chemical resistance — resistant to grease and a broad spectrum of solvents
- Rot resistance — resistant to mold, mildew, bacteria and rot
- Flexible — easy to mold and fabricate for custom pieces
- Anti-vibration — minimizes vibrations that can damage sensitive parts
- Sustainable — can be reused and recycled
